How do I become a Nutritarian?

TheNutritarians enjoy a lifestyle full of foods rich in nutrients. It's simple, eat foods with the highest nutritional value and cut all processed foods that hold nothing but empty calories and limited, if any, nutrients.
Many of us were, or still are, so customized to following the SAD diet (standard American diet) that switching to a more truly nutritious one may be difficult.
A major problem is believing in food marketing and packaging. If it says "whole wheat" it must be true, right? WRONG!!! Learning to read labels is crucial to your journey towards a lifestyle filled with more nutrients and less empty calories.
Contact us at TheNutritarians@yahoo.com. We offer private and group guidence for becoming, or help maintaining, TheNutritarian lifestyle.

The Salad Is The Main Dish

"Raw vegetables have the most powerful anticancer properties of all foods." (Dr.Joel Fuhrman)
The SAD diet (standard American diet) includes leafy greens and vegetables in portion sizes equal, or less, to the animal protein and starch.
"The Salad" should be the main dish. Have fun with it and add as many raw vegetables as possible.
Raw vegetables have a negative caloric effect. Raw foods also have a faster transit time through the digestive tract, resulting in more weight loss than their cooked counterparts. The objective is to eat as many raw vegetables as possible, with the goal of one-pound daily. An easy way to accomplish this is to eat a salad at the beginning of your lunch, and then have some raw vegetables with dip before dinner. This could be an entire head of lettuce with one or two tomatoes and some shredded peppers, beets, or carrots. Or, you could have cucumber and shredded cabbage with shredded apples and raisins, or raw broccoli, cherry tomatoes, and snow pea pods with a delicious humus or salsa dip. The possibilities are endless. (more information is found in Dr.Fuhrman's Book Two of Eat To Live)

Hawks Cay 2009 Getaway

Nick and I recently attended Dr. Fuhrman's Getaway at Hawks Cay, in the Florida Keys. There we celebrated our Anniversary while enjoying great food, lectures and great company in a beautiful setting. Our success story continues and we would love to thank Dr. Fuhrman and his staff for yet another fabulous getaway.
